Master in Primary Health Care Management (MPHM)

Scholarships for students in the Master of Primary Health Care Management program (International Program) Academic Year 2023 Supported by CPI

Community Partners International (CPI) is partnering with Mahidol University’s ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD) in Thailand to offer 10 tuition fee scholarships for the one-year Master of Primary Health Care Management (MPHM) International Program.

The scholarships will be awarded to successful candidates working with community organizations located in remote areas of Myanmar (Burma) who provide health and humanitarian services to vulnerable populations in/from Myanmar.

This MPHM International Program will require four months of online study (August 2023 to November 2023) and eight months of on-campus study at AIHD, Mahidol University (December 2023 to July 2024) . If candidates opt to remain on campus throughout the special program, AIHD will support their visa application process.

CPI will provide 10 full or partial tuition fee scholarships for the MPHM International Program. Successful candidates will need to cover their own travel, visa, accommodation, and other expenses during the study period at AIHD, Mahidol University.


    By the end of the study, students will be able to:

  1. Exhibit discipline and honesty and behave according to morals and ethics of personal and professional practice.

  2. Explain the theoretical concepts and the interconnection of various fields of knowledge in primary health care management.

  3. Evaluate information and its sources critically and incorporate selected information into their learning base and research to solve the problems associated with the primary health care management system.

  4. Work as a team with effective interpersonal communication skills to establish and enhance personal and work-based relationships.

  5. Perform statistical analysis and its interpretation, communication, and presentation with appropriate information technology.

Graduate requirements

    The total time of study should not exceed the study plan.

  1. Students must complete courses as stated in the curriculum, at least 24 credits of coursework with a minimum CUM-GPA of 3.00, and a thesis (12 credits).

  2. Students must meet the English Competence Standard of Graduate Students, Mahidol University defined by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.

  3. Students must participate and pass in skill development activities of the Graduate Studies, at Mahidol University

  4. Students must submit and present theses, pass the public oral thesis defense, and receive approval from the thesis examination committee appointed by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.

  5. Parts of the thesis are required to be published or accepted in the national or international academic database journal according to the announcement of the office of higher education commission or present in an international conference proceeding according to the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.


    Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Graduated with a degree in medicine or a health-related field

  2. Grade point average > 2.50.

  3. Good command of English (TOEFL score of 500 and above or IELTS score with a minimum of 5).

  4. If an applicant does not meet the above criteria but has other suitable qualifications and experience, s/he may be considered to apply for admission by the program committee
