ASEAN Institute for Health Development celebrated the 56th Anniversary of Mahidol University’s Naming and the 137th Anniversary of Mahidol

On March 2, 2025, Mahidol University held a ceremony to celebrate the 56th anniversary of its naming and the 137th anniversary of its founding. The event was attended by Clinical Prof. Emeritus Dr. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, President of the Mahidol University Council; Prof. Dr. Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University; Dr. Somsak Leeswadtrakul, President of the Mahidol University Alumni Association under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King; along with university executives, faculty members, and representatives from various departments. The event took place at Prince Mahidol Hall. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, along with executives, faculty members, and staff, participated in the wreath-laying ceremony to pay tribute to the statue of Prince Mahidol of Songkla. They also attended the 13th honorary speech of Prof. Dr. Kasan Chatikawanich, M.D., titled "Nan Sandbox", delivered by Mr. Banthoon Lamsam, Honorary Chairman of Kasikornbank Public Company Limited. Following this, the university held a ceremony to honor senior members, with Prof. Dr. Somarch Wongkhomthong, former Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, joining the event. In the afternoon, executives and staff congratulated AIHD members and alumni who received the following awards: 1) Most Beloved Lecturers Award: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Juthamanee Suthisisang, AIHD Advisor and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mathuros Tipayamongkholgul, AIHD Lecturer. 2) Outstanding Personnel Award: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cheerawit Rattanapan, Deputy Director for Research and Academic Affairs; Mr. Sittattadet Srisuk, Head of General Support General Administration Officer (Senior Professional Level); and Nom Boonkerd, AIHD Driver. 3) Distinguished Alumni Award: Chawanon Imarb, Provincial Public Health Medical Doctor from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Alumnus of the 28th Batch of the Master of Primary Health Care Management Program. 4) Outstanding Young Alumni Award: Mr. Prasit Piriyapaiboon, Deputy Director of the Division of Community Health Support, Head of the Academic Development and Innovation Group, Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health and alumnus of the 37th Batch of the Master of Primary Health Care Management Program. Additionally, Mahidol University hosted a Homecoming Event, "MU BLUE NIGHT 2025", bringing together alumni, faculty, and staff from various departments. The event was filled with warmth and a strong sense of camaraderie in front of Prince of Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
