AUN – HPN

One of the ASEAN University Network’s theme networks, ASEAN University Network-Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN), strives to advance the role of the university as a pioneer in improving health for the community. Since the network’s founding in 2014, Mahidol University has served as its secretariat. There are currently 30 core members and 8 associate members, all of them are universities from within and outside the ASEAN region. In 2018, ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD) was assigned as the Secretariat of AUN-HPN.

Through its processes for assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of a healthy university, AUN-HPN launched the Healthy University Framework (HUF) in 2017 as an initiative tool for ASEAN universities to translate the Whole University Approach toward health promotion. This framework demonstrates the new initiative of the AUN-HPN in establishing the Healthy Rating University System (HURS), an online tool converted from HUF to be used by universities for monitoring their self-evaluation of the implementation of the healthy university’s process toward sustainability and well-being. By 2022, HURS had undergone an upgrade to its second version and is now prepared to accept responses from all of the network’s universities.
