| ที่มาและความสำคัญ: | Low back pain (LBP) is a highly common symptom found across all age group ranging from children to elderly. However, studies reported significant impact on the health of elderly, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where the symptom contributed to 54% increase in Years Lived with Disabilities (YLDs) from 1990-2015. To mitigate the symptom, a mixed therapy between Thai traditional massage and herbal compress has been used in Thailand for centuries due to its safety and free from systemic adverse effects. Regardless, there is a lack of evidence on whether performing massage alone or using the combined treatment can better improve LBP. Thus, this study will determine the effectiveness of including an herbal compress in a traditional Thai massage regimen for the care of low back pain in the elderly. |
