On June 24, 2024, the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, organized a study visit on Universal Coverage and Thailand Health Care System for Community Partner International (CPI). Associate Professor Dr. Mathuros Tipyamongkholgul, Acting Deputy Director for Research and Academic Affairs, delivered the welcome remarks to 23 participants from Community Partner International, who joined the program to learn about Thailand’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and public health service system during June 24–28, 2024. The program was honored by two distinguished guest speakers: Dr. Supakit Sirilak, Director of the Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI), who presented on “Thailand Health System Profile”, and Mr. Prasit Piriyapaiboon, Head of the Academic and Innovation Development Group, Department of Health Service Support, who gave a lecture on “Capacity Development Process and the Role of Village Health Volunteers in Enhancing Care.” During the study visit, CPI participants had the opportunity to explore the health service system in Ratchaburi Province, including Ratchaburi Hospital, Ratchaburi Mother and Child Hospital, the Office of Disease Prevention and Control Region 5, and Wat Phleng Hospital.The visit aimed to enhance understanding of Thailand’s healthcare system, observe best practices, and promote knowledge exchange and experience sharing with local health professionals.
