On July 25, 2024, the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, officially launched the training program “Mini Master of Management in Health for Ethnic Health Care Managers.” The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Mathuros Tipyamongkholgul, Acting Deputy Director for Research and Academic Affairs, who delivered the welcoming remarks to 51 participants from various organizations in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, including KDHW, CHO, EHSSG, BPHWT, BMA, MTC, SHD, PPDC, and CHDN. The program was honored to have Dr. Chawetsan Namwat, former Thai Director of the Thailand–U.S. Cooperation Center on Public Health (CDC-TUC), deliver a lecture on “Health System Concepts and Resilience.” Additionally, Dr. Phusit Prakongsai from the Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, presented on “Health Financing.” Both guest speakers shared their expertise and engaged in an online knowledge exchange session via Zoom Meeting. The “Training on Mini Master of Management in Health for Ethnic Health Care Managers” program is a collaborative initiative between AIHD and Community Partners International (CPI). It is conducted from July 25 to September 28, 2024, in a hybrid format combining online and onsite learning. The course aims to enhance the capacity of health personnel in health system management within diverse and complex contexts, and to promote knowledge exchange with experts on key topics such as Human Resources for Health Management, Leadership and Governance for Health in Ethnic Conflict-Affected Areas in Myanmar, and Health Equity and Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Through this program, participants are expected to develop managerial competencies and effectively apply the knowledge and skills gained to improve health systems in their respective areas.
