On August 5, 2024, the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, officially launched the Summer Program: Thailand Community-Based Health System. The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Mathuros Tipyamongkholgul, Acting Deputy Director for Research and Academic Affairs, who delivered the opening remarks and welcomed 20 participants and lecturers. The participants included students from Juntendo University, Japan, and Chang Gung University, Taiwan. The event took place at Room 2108, Training Building, AIHD. The Summer Program: Thailand Community-Based Health System, held from August 5–12, 2024, aims to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of Thailand’s health system management within its diverse contexts. The program covers key areas such as: Welfare systems for elderly care, Health services provided by public agencies, The Universal Health Coverage (UHC) scheme, and Public health service delivery systems, from provincial to community and village levels. Through lectures, field visits, and interactive learning, the program enables students to gain knowledge and insights into Thailand’s community-based health system, and to apply and integrate these learnings into the development and improvement of health systems in their own contexts.
