Training Program on Strengthening the Capacity of Area-Based Health Managers: Batch 1

From October 19–21, 2022, the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, organized the Certificate Training Program on Strengthening the Capacity of Area-Based Health Managers: Batch 1 (Session 3) at Boonsiri Conference Room, AIHD. The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Pudit Techatavat, Director of AIHD, Mr. Thanis Wongpiyasathit, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, and Dr. Preeda Tae-Akarach, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Health Commission Office (NHCO), who jointly presented certificates to the 58 participants completing the training. During the program, participants presented their group projects, which were reviewed and critiqued by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pudit Techatavat, Mr. Jaruek Chairak, Director of the Office of Area-Based Health Promotion, NHCO, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Supaporn Songpracha, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, AIHD, who provided constructive feedback and guidance for improvement. In addition, the institute was honored to welcome Dr. Supatra Sriwanichakorn, former Secretary-General of the Health Systems Research and Development Foundation, who delivered a lecture on “Development of Primary Health Care Systems and Services”, and Dr. Attapol Kanchanapongporn, who gave a presentation on “Technology for Primary Health Care Services.” The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and management capacity of local health managers, promote collaboration between national and local health authorities, and strengthen the foundation of primary health care through effective leadership, innovation, and intersectoral coordination.
