AIHD attended the Health Promoting Campuses Symposium: Networks Panel Presentation

On 12 May 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D., Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development and Executive Director of AUN-HPN, and Dr. Man Vo, Assistant Director for International Affairs, attended the Health Promoting Campuses Symposium: Networks Panel Presentation as part of the 2nd International Health Promoting Campuses Symposium.
This symposium aims to activate the Okanagan Charter on higher education campuses around the world. The Okanagan Charter was an outcome of the 2015 International Conference on Health Promoting Universities and Colleges; calling on Higher Education settings to embed health into all aspects of campus culture and lead health promotion action and collaboration locally and globally.
In the panel presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phudit provided a brief update on what was going on in AUN-HPN, including recommendations on what was effective and challenging for the AUN-HPN, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. This panel session was also a gathering of multiple health-promoting university networks, namely the German Network of Health Promoting Universities, presented by Christiane Stock; the Indian Network by Rajiv Yeravdekar; the Health Promoting Universities China Network by Johnston Hong-Chung Wong; and the Canadian Health Promoting Campuses Network by Melissa Potwarka.
More than 500 participants from 21 countries and 5 continents were attending the symposium
