AIHD emphasizes primary health care studies concerning with the promotion of healthy physical and social environment to address the burden of non-communicable diseases, ageing population, emerging diseases, health and social protection, sustainable development, and other threatening issues in global health
AIHD focuses on monitoring and evaluation of health-related policies in various stages (e.g., policy formulation, communication, implementation, and community engagement) at different levels including national, district, and local to provide sounded evidence-informed policy recommendations for decision makers.
Studies in this area explores opportunities to develop well-being of people and prepare them to be active and healthy elders. In addition, AIHD also emphasize on development of innovations for ageing society as appropriate to Thai context.
AIHD focuses on creating and dissemination of knowledge that help improve primary health care according to three key components as described in Declaration of Astana on Primary Health Care. Those components include multi-sectoral policies and action, primary care and essential public health functions, and empowered people and communities. Additionally, we also use our evidence-based knowledge to push forward integrated people-centered health services (IPCHS) to promote holistic and people focused primary health care services.
