AIHD Celebrates Songkran with Traditional Merit-Making Ceremony

On April 11, 2025, the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, celebrated the Thai New Year with a traditional Songkran merit-making ceremony. The event was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanwadee Suksaroj, Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development. Executives, faculty, researchers, staff, and students joined together to honor Thai culture through sacred rituals, including Buddhist chanting, a memorial blessing (Bang Sukun), almsgiving to nine monks from Wat Hathainares, and a ceremonial water-pouring over the Buddha image to invoke good fortune. The celebration took place at the Boonsiri Meeting Room, fostering unity and cultural appreciation within the AIHD community.
