ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University and the State of Meghalaya, India, Launch the "Educational Tour Program on Public Health Policy: Learning Experiences from Thailand"

On April 28, 2025,The ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, in collaboration with the State of Meghalaya, India, officially launched the "Educational Tour Program on Public Health Policy: Learning Experiences from Thailand" at the PMH Conference Center, Mahidol University, Salaya. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ms. Paulomi Tripathi, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, together with Associate Professor Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhiratthiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, Mahidol University, and Associate Professor Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development. Executives, faculty members, and 33 participants from the State of Meghalaya were also in attendance. Ms. Tripathi warmly welcomed the participants and expressed her gratitude to Mahidol University for organizing this initiative, which serves as an important platform for sharing knowledge and experiences in public health policy between Thailand and India. Associate Professor Dr. Nopraenue emphasized that the program is a significant opportunity to strengthen public health capacities and promote international collaboration, helping to build lasting partnerships and enhance global health systems. Associate Professor Dr. Thunwadee added that throughout the program, participants will explore Thailand’s healthcare system and public health initiatives, including the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) scheme, flexible health workforce development, and visits to key health institutions. The program also offers opportunities for direct exchanges with leading experts to learn about Thailand’s successes in health promotion, disease prevention, and rehabilitation. This initiative marks a key milestone in strengthening health cooperation between Thailand and India, aiming to inspire new ideas and build a strong network for future healthcare development.
