ASEAN Institute for Health Development hosted a multilateral academic collaboration meeting with Osaka University and internal partner networks at Mahidol University

On August 20, 2025, the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, hosted a delegation from the Osaka University Institute for Sports and Global Health (OuiSH), Japan, in collaboration with internal partner networks within Mahidol University, including the College of Sports Science and Technology and the Faculty of Medical Technology. The primary objective of this meeting was to discuss the establishment of the “Osaka-Mahidol Joint Research Centre for Global Health Innovations.” This joint research centre will focus on advancing research and academic services in Global Health Governance and Innovations, with a strong commitment to supporting and driving global health policy at both national and international levels. In addition, the meeting focused on promoting student exchange programs under the Osaka University International Certificate Program (OUICP) to enhance international learning and experiences for students.
On this occasion, the AIHD executive team, led by Associate Professor Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj (Director), Associate Professor Dr. Cheerawit Rattanapan (Deputy Director for Research and Academic Affairs), Associate Professor Dr. Orapin Laosee (Deputy Director for Administration and Academic Services), and Associate Professor Dr. Piyapong Janmaimool (Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations), joined discussions current and future academic collaborations with representatives from OuiSH, led by Prof. Dr. Ken Nakata, M.D. (Director, Osaka University Institute for Sports and Global Health), Prof. Daisaku Nakatani (Director, Division of Global Strategy Promotion), and Dr. Rie Ogasawara (Assistant Professor, Graduate School of Human Sciences). The meeting also included representatives from the College of Sports Science and Technology, led by Assistant Professor Yuthana Udomphorn, M.D. (Dean), together with the executive team, as well as representatives from the Faculty of Medical Technology, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Chotiros Plabplueng (Dean), together with the executive team and faculty members.
The meeting took place at the Krasae Chanawongse Meeting Room, ASEAN Institute for Health Development.
