ASEAN Institute for Health Development Joins the Wreath-Laying Ceremony on the Occasion of “Mahidol Day”

On 24 September 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, together with executives, faculty members, staff, and students, joined the wreath-laying ceremony to pay tribute to the monument of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla, the Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health of Thailand, on the occasion of Mahidol Day. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University, at the Prince Mahidol Monument, Mahidol Learning Center, Salaya Campus. On this occasion, the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyapong Janmaimool, Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations, together with Dr. Tharinee Buadit and AIHD staff, also joined the wreath-laying ceremony to pay tribute at the Prince Mahidol Monument at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. Meanwhile, Dr. Chanida Lertpitakpong, Lecturer of the Health Development Academic Group, together with AIHD staff, participated in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Prince Mahidol Monument at the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University. “Mahidol Day,” observed annually on 24 September, commemorates the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla, recognized as the Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health of Thailand for his dedication in laying the foundation of the nation’s medical and public health system, which continues to advance to this day.
