On 2–3 December 2025, ASEAN University Network–Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN), Mahidol University, participated in the ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue (AAED) 2025 held in Penang, Malaysia.
Associate Professor Dr. Piyapong Janmaimool, Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations at ASEAN Institute for Health Development and Deputy Executive Director of AUN-HPN, assigned by Associate Professor Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development and Executive Director of AUN-HPN, attended ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue (AAED) 2025 under the theme “Education in Motion: Reimagining Mobility, Inclusivity, and Sustainability Across Borders.”
The event was organized by the ASEAN University Network (AUN), in collaboration with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and the ASEAN Focus Group (AFG VG).
The dialogue highlighted key topics, including:
• Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• Student Mobility & International Education Diplomacy
• Inclusivity, Equity & Access to Education
• Innovation, AI & Higher Education / Skills & TVET
• Research Collaboration & Partnerships
• Celebrating Timor-Leste’s Membership in AUN and the ASEAN Higher Education Community
Participation in this dialogue provided an important opportunity to expand collaborative networks between higher-education institutions across ASEAN and Australia, while strengthening knowledge on sustainability across various dimensions, such as educational access, quality education and workforce development, and policy advancement toward Net Zero and the Blue Economy.
