On 20 January 2026, Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, assigned Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, and Executive Director of AUN-HPN Secretariat to welcome a delegation of university executives, faculty members, and staff from the Eastern Thailand Health Promoting Universities Network. The delegation was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Parinya Nakpathom, Vice President for Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, Burapha University and team, along with representatives from Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus, Sripatum University Chonburi Campus, Thailand National Sports University Chonburi Campus, and Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok. The total number of participants was 21 persons.
The visit was also joined by Dr. Pimpanit Condee, Assistant to the President for Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, Mahidol University, and representatives from the Division of Planning, Mahidol University, who participated in welcoming the delegation and exchanging experiences on health promotion initiatives for students and staff at Mahidol University. Along with exchanging experiences on collecting evidence for entering the Healthy University Rating System (HURS) assessment process. In addition, the event was honored by a lecture from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirinan Kittisuksathit, Director of the Thailand Center for Happy Worker Studies (TCHS), Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, on the topic “Assessing Organizational Happiness Using the HAPPINOMETER Tool.” It was also honored by a lecture from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyapong Janmaimool, Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development and Deputy Executive Director of AUN-HPN Secretariat, on the topic “The Role of AUN-HPN in Driving Healthy University Policies.”
In addition, the study visit delegation toured health promotion initiatives for students and staff at Mahidol University, visiting the MU Well-being Center under the Division of Student Affairs and the Center of Safety, Occupational Health and Environment in Management (COSHEM). The delegation was welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ittichote Chuckpaiwong, Vice President for Infrastructure and Environment, and Ms. Kirati Pimkaew, Director of the Office of Student Affairs. The visit included presentations and site tours of various projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life of students and staff, as well as an exchange of experiences on workplace safety development to reduce health impacts arising from works.
This study visit was part of the project to strengthen collaboration among Thai universities in health promotion, with the key objective of exchanging knowledge, experiences, concepts, and best practices to drive universities toward becoming Healthy Universities in a concrete and sustainable manner.
