AUN-HPN Secretariat, Meets with Representatives from the University of Cape Town, South Africa

On 22 January 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, and Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network–Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN), together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyapong Chanmaimul, Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations, ASEAN Institute for Health Development, and Deputy Executive Director of AUN-HPN, Mahidol University, held a meeting with Dr. Memory Mutiriki, Director of Student Wellness Service, and Professor Sharon Kleintjes, Head of the Psychiatry and Mental Health Division, representatives from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. The meeting aimed to discuss potential collaboration in organizing the 2026 WUN Global Mental Health Symposium, with the University of Cape Town serving as the host in collaboration with the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN). The symposium is scheduled to take place on 23–24 June 2026 under the theme “Digital Mental Health and Inequalities.” The event aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and research, as well as to co-create inclusive and equitable concepts and strategies for promoting mental health in the digital era. The symposium will bring together academics, policymakers, students, organizations, and individuals with lived experiences in mental health from around the world. This collaboration marks another significant step for AUN-HPN in advancing global mental health initiatives and strengthening international networks for health promotion.
