The Secretariat of the ASEAN University Network–Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN), together with the Thai University Network for Health Promotion (TUN-HPN), organized the 17th Thai University Network for Health Promotion Network Committee Meeting.

On 23 January 2026, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, assigned Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, and Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network–Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN), to attend the 17th Thai University Network for Health Promotion Network Committee Meeting. The meeting was held online via Zoom, and was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jirawat Phasara, Assistant to the President of Chiang Mai University and Chair of the Thai University Network for Health Promotion Network for the term 2024–2026. Committee members attending the meeting included Dr. Wiwat Rojanapithayakorn, Advisor to the Thai University Network for Health Promotion Network Committee; Professor Narine Hiransuthikul, M.D., Advisor to the Committee; Asst. Prof. Dr. Parinya Nakpathom, Vice President for Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, Burapha University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pensri Jaroenwanit, Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation, Khon Kaen University; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyapong Janmai-mool, Deputy Executive Director of AUN-HPN and Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations, the Institute for Population and Social Research (ASEAN Institute for Health Development). The meeting was also honored by the participation of executives and representatives from network universities and partner organizations, including Asst.Prof. Ratchot Chompunich, Vice President for Student Affairs and Sustainable Development, Kasetsart University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jeema Soralump, Assistant to the President for Student Affairs and Sustainable Development, Kasetsart University; Prof. Chutima Sirikulchayanont, M.D., College of Medicine, Rangsit University; Asst. Prof. Pornthip Nimkhuntod, M.D., School of Medicine, Suranaree University of Technology; Mr. Pongsak Thongratana, Director of the Office of Organizational Health Promotion, Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth); Ms. Suttinee Chattayalak, Director of the Student Development Division, Chiang Mai University; Asst. Prof. Dr. Darunee Phukao, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mahidol University; as well as representatives from TUN-HPN member universities across all regions of Thailand. Key agenda items discussed at the meeting included: A summary of past performance of the Thai University Network for Health Promotion (TUN-HPN), particularly in network expansion and the application of the HURS tool to drive Healthy University policies; Progress updates on research projects under TUN-HPN focusing on mental health, physical activity, and vaping; Preparations for the 3rd National Healthy University Conference, scheduled for 26–27 March 2026, under the theme “Integrating Prevention and Risk Reduction to Drive Safe Universities for a Happier Thai Society”; Presentations on network expansion outcomes by Rangsit University, and the Uni-Health Platform—a health assessment system for students and staff—by Chiang Mai University, North-Chiang Mai University, and the University of Phayao. The Thai University Network for Health Promotion Network Committee Meeting received strong support from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) in strengthening the leadership capacity of universities across Thailand in health promotion. This collaboration aims to enable comprehensive implementation of the Healthy University framework, advancing Thai universities toward becoming internationally recognized Health Promoting Universities, and ultimately contributing to sustainable good health for the population.
