ASEAN Institute for Health Development Welcomes Prof. Sumit Kane from The University of Melbourne, Australia

On 30 January 2026, the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development; Associate Professor Dr. Piyapong Janmaimool, Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations; and Dr. Syarifah Aqilah, Lecturer at institute, welcomed and held a meeting with Prof. Sumit Kane, Head of Social and Economic Determinants of Health and Professor of Global Health at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, The University of Melbourne, Australia. The meeting aimed to discuss potential academic and research collaboration in the field of Global Health, including the development of health systems that are responsive to global and community changes, as well as issues related to the development of community health volunteers in urban areas. Both institutions agreed to initiate knowledge and experience exchange through training programs or seminars, and to further develop joint research projects in the future. The meeting was held at Krasae Chanawongse Meeting Room, ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University.
