Meeting on surveying the needs of Village Health Volunteers

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D.; Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development #AIHD, Mahidol University and Head of Policy Options and Guidelines to Reform and Strengthen the Roles of Village Health Volunteers and Bangkok Health Volunteers towards the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) project, along with AIHD lecturers joined the meeting with Department of Health Service Support; Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and The BMA Health Department to present, plan, and discuss the research guidelines to survey the needs for Reforming the Roles of Village Health Volunteers in the target area on 29 March 2021 at Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health (MOPH).
Department of Health Service Support presented policy framework and indicators to develop the capacity of Village Health Volunteers and Bangkok Health Volunteers. The Head of research and sub-project also presented the progress of the project and results of literature reviews which were consistent with policies and support systems of Village Health Volunteers and Bangkok Health Volunteers. The results from the literature review will be synthesized as a conceptual framework for exploring the need for capacity development of Village Health Volunteers and Bangkok Health Volunteers.
