AIHD held a meeting with village health volunteers

On 17 August 2021, Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D.; Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University and head of Policy Options and Guidelines to Reform and Strengthen the Roles of Village Health Volunteers and Bangkok Health Volunteers towards the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) project, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Orapin Laosee; head of sub-project no.3, research team from AIHD, Department of Health Service Support (Ministry of Health), and the BMA Health Department collected research data from Village Health Volunteers who worked with best practices in Pattani province via Zoom Meeting.
The sub project no.3; Lessons Learned on Village Health Volunteers in Best Practices applied the qualitative method to collect data.
They formed 3 groups to interview subjects, who were village health volunteers, and representatives from related health organizations that are Provincial Public Health Office, District Public Health Office, Sub-District Health Promoting Hospital, Community Health Center, and Health Service Support Office. The meeting aimed to examine the lesson learned that reflected problems, solutions, work processes as well as the success of the work of Village Health Volunteers and Bangkok Health Volunteers in the context of a variety of important health issues, such as COVID-19 management, drug problems, mental health, the elderly, health promotion, and care for chronically ill patients in different areas.
