Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj; head of sub-project no.2, and research team from AIHD collected research data on village health volunteers’ working system in Kanchanaburi via Zoom Meeting.
This project was funded by Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI). This research project used a qualitative method for collecting data from a focus group belonging to 8 districts of Kanchanaburi.
The meeting aimed to study the roles of village health volunteers and Bangkok health volunteers in the context of diverse health problems and expectations. Moreover, focus group participants also provided information and suggestions about the roles and duties of village health volunteers, capacity building, and support for village health volunteers, including the policy of 3 private doctors. The information obtained will be useful for the analysis of the operating system and to meet the expectations of the stakeholders for reforming the roles of village health volunteers and Bangkok health volunteers. It will lead to the synthesis of alternatives and policy proposals to support the roles of village health volunteers and Bangkok health volunteers in order to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
