AIHD joined the CONNECT September Steering Committee Meeting

On 9 September 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D.; Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development #AIHD, Mahidol University, along with Dr. Weerawat Phankrut, M.D.; advisory board member of AIHD joined The CONNECT September Steering Committee Meeting via Zoom Meeting. AIHD collaborated with Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI) Thailand, International Labour Organization (ILO), The Korea Institute For Health And Social Affairs (KIHASA)-South Korea, The Graduate School of Public Health, Seoul National University (SNU)-South Korea, and The Health Strategy and Policy Institute (HSPI)-Viet Nam to establish CONNECT with the aim to enhance abilities, develop strategic policies, and social health protection system of Asia Pacific countries for supporting the achievement of Universal Health Coverage: UHC. During this meeting, Ms. Vesna Jovic, Social Protection Technical Officer, ILO reported that committee members already approved the CONNECT Organizational Charter and leaflet for PR CONNECT.
Moreover, Mrs. Marielle Phe Goursat, Project Manager of the ILO-Luxembourg Project ‘Support the extension of Social Health Protection in South-East Asia’ reported on budget management for CONNECT for the years2020-2023. The committee was divided into small groups for workshops, to consider inviting organizations or various agencies to be new members of CONNECT, and consider events such as “Regular Welcome Meeting” to introduce CONNECT to new members. Ms. Jeniffer Hyunjin Kim, Research Department of Future Strategies Research (KIHASA) reported on the progress of preparing for the webinar – “The KIHASA 2021 Social Security Forum”. This online seminar focused on highlighting issues on The Impact of COVID-19 on Social Health Protection, for which the ASEAN Institute for Health Development and Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI), The Ministry of Public Health, Thailand, has jointly conducted research to present results at the seminar that will be held in December 2021.
