CRS with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) recently organized filed training in dietary assessment with the University of Health Sciences Laos ມະຫາວິທະຍາໄລວິທະຍາສາດສຸຂະພາບ (UHS) in Vangvieng between September 3-11, 2023. The training was led by Associate Professor Dr. Kitti Sranacharoenpong from Mahidol University, Thailand. Researchers collected data on eating habits from young people and computed their dietary intake values using innovative new software, INMUCAL. UHS plans to incorporate these new techniques in their graduate program on nutrition with the support of the ANRCB project. The training was attended by 14 participants from UHS, Lao Tropical & Public Health Institute (Lao TPHI), and the Center of Nutrition (CN). The participants learned how to use INMUCAL to analyse nutrients intake, Food Frequency analysis, create food models, proportion and serving size. UHS team will be apply teach nutrition master students about using these tools for research.
