On 3 November 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuthamanee Suthisisang; Acting for Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mathuros Tipayamongkholgul; Acting for Deputy Director for Research and Academic Affairs congratulated Dr. Pongkasem Khaimook, M.D. on the occasion of appointment as the Director-General, Department of Mental Health at Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health. During the meeting, the main discussion focused on the direction of mental health policy, which is 1) Developing Adversity Quotient (AQ) in children and 2) Preventing and treating substance abuse and mental health issues, particularly Serious Mental Illness and Violence (SMIV) and received suggestions for improving cooperation in community and school-based mental health programs, which conform with AIHD strategic research.
