AIHD, in cooperation with BDMS Wellness Clinic, to develop Lifestyle Medicine Programs

The ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, in cooperation with the BDMS Wellness Clinic, has organized a meeting to discuss the development of the training programs for Lifestyle Medicine held on 10 September 2020 via the online meeting app Zoom.
AIHD executives present during the meeting were the Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University and Research Project Head of the Development of Lifestyle Medicine Training Programs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D.; AIHD Deputy Director, Asst. Prof. Dr. Vijj Kasemsup, M.D.; and AIHD Assistant Director for Research and Innovation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakda Arj-ong Vallipakorn, M.D.
Participants from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the BDMS Wellness Clinic who were present at the meeting via Zoom include Ms. Titiporn Tuangratananon, M.D., Professional Level Medical Physician at the Bureau of Health Promotion, Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, along with her research staff and Mr. Tanupol Virunhagarun, M.D., Chief Operating Officer and Director of BDMS Wellness Clinic and Regenerative Wellness Clinic together with his colleagues from the BDMS Wellness Clinic network.
During the meeting, the research project head has reported the project’s progress and provide articles that were based on local and international literature reviews about Lifestyle Medicine, which include issues on services, personnel management, service providers, competencies, as well as service skills enhancement. Before the adjournment of the meeting, participants agreed on the next meeting’s date, which is scheduled in December 2020 to be held in Bangkok using both online and offline meeting mode. It is expected, in the next meeting, to gather about 30 participants coming from the Americas, Europe, different parts of Asia, and also from Thailand. These participants are from the field of medical and public health sector, health system sector, academic sector, private institutions and agencies, and non-government organizations.
The online and offline or face to face meeting formats will include an educational trip to the BDMS Wellness Clinic, group discussions to exchange ideas and learnings, and discuss study results to further develop the Lifestyle Medicine Training Programs.
