The 2nd Thai Healthy University Network Conference

On March 21-22, 2024, the AUN-HPN Secretariat Office in collaboration with Thai University Network for Health Promotion Network (TUN-HPN) organized the 2nd Thai Healthy University Network Conference under the theme "Building a Culture of Health Promotion: Fostering Mental Health Awareness and Support on Campus." Attended in this conference were Prof. Dr. Narin Hiransuthikul, M.D.; Chair of the TUN-HPN Committee and Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, Dr. Nuttapun Supaka; Director of Partnership and International Affairs Section, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti; Executive Director of ASEAN University Network, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuthamanee Suthisisang; Acting Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development and Executive Director of AUN-HPN, Dr. Varoth Chotpitayasunondh, spokesperson for the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health and other TUN-HPN Committees. The conference took place at Rajmontien Grand Ballroom, Montien Hotel Surawong Bangkok, Thailand and via Facebook Live: AUN-HPN Secretariat Office The 2nd Thai Healthy University Network Conference, themed around Mental Health, served as a crucial platform for the Thai University Network for Health Promotion (TUN-HPN) and interested Thai universities to exchange invaluable experiences in mental health care and the advancement of related mechanisms within the network. This exchange was instrumental in propelling health promotion initiatives across universities. Additionally, the conference included the pivotal 10th Thai University Network for Health Promotion Committee Meeting, which encompassed the selection and appointment of the chairperson for the upcoming term. Various activities, such as workshops focusing on enhancing students' mental health care skills and a booth exhibition titled "Mindful Wellness: Fostering Mental Wellbeing," were organized to augment knowledge, understanding, and advocacy for overall well-being. Operations of the Thai University Network for Health Promotion Committee (TUN-HPN) was funded by Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) to support universities in Thailand to develop their potential and become leaders in health promotion. In addition, the AUN Healthy University Framework (HUF) can be implemented thoroughly among the Thai University in order to achieve its goal of becoming a "Healthy University" and resulting in sustainability of good health in the community. The TUN-HPN Committee consists of 6 main universities, namely Burapha University, Chiang Mai University, Chulalongkorn University, Khon Kaen University, Mahidol University and Prince of Songkla University together with Thai university members to jointly drive health promotion policies as well as to expand the network both domestically and internationally.
