AIHD met Hygiene and Health Promotion Department, Lao PDR to enhance national public health strategies and research implementation

On 24 June 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuthamanee Suthisisang; Acting for Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj; Acting for Deputy Director for Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitti Sranacharoenpong, and lecturers attended the meeting with Dr. Ketkesone Phrasisombath, Deputy director of Hygiene and Health promotion department, Lao PDR and team via zoom online meeting. During the meeting, they planned to enhance national public health strategies of Lao PDR for develop the capacity building of nutrition staff and develop health system by enhance the system of village health volunteers. Moreover, they also discussed the result of the research project entitled “Quantity and quality of breastmilk of a group of Laotian lactating women” to implement by developing the policy strategic plan of Lao PDR for maternal and child promoting exclusive breastfeeding. This research project is collaborated by Ministry of Health, Lao PDR and Mahidol University for developing the action plan that will expect the long-term outcomes for a good quality of life for Lao children.
