On 9 July 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuthamanee Suthisisang; Acting for Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mathuros Tipayamongkholgul; Acting for Deputy Director for Research and Academic Affairs met Mrs. Pawaree Xuto Chaipatiyut; Deputy Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs (Thailand) at the Department of ASEAN Affairs (Thailand), Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The aims of this meeting were to discuss primary health and competency of health personnel for border health, as well as to promote cooperation in developing health systems within the ASEAN region to combat Transboundary Emerging Infectious Diseases. This was the results from the Consultative meeting of global health experts, academics, and researchers from the ASEAN region. A White paper titled “Mitigating Transboundary Emerging Infectious Diseases: Wildlife and One Health Sustainability” was presented during the meeting, which provided policy recommendations for Global Health that are important to the ASEAN region.
