AIHD research team presents progress of qualitative research data collection

Mahidol University’s ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD) Director, Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D., who is also the Head of the research project “The synthesis of policy for the development of the district quality of life”, has called for a meeting for the presentation of the recent progress of the research project’s qualitative data collection. The meeting was conducted via the Zoom Meeting app on 21 September 2020 and held at the AIHD’s Rachaphruek Rm.
Attendees of the said meeting include Asst. Prof. Dr. Vijj Kasemsup, M.D., AIHD Deputy Director; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakda Arj-ong Vallibhakara, M.D., AIHD Assistant Director for Research and Innovation; and the research teams from the districts of Saraburi and Nan Province. Research teams from Saraburi include Mueang District, Phra Phutthabat, and Wihan Daeng District, while teams from Nan Province include Mueang District, Chiang Klang, Wihan Daeng, and Pua District.
Presented during the meeting were essential works done by the committees at the district level and the qualitative data collected from the target groups at various levels. The Head of the project provided feedback and suggestions on how to move the process on the right track, appropriate working tools, data collection management, visitation process, and the conduct of an inspiring research work.
The results of the “The synthesis of policy for the development of the district quality of life” research project will provide vital and much needed policy-level support in drafting strategies that can help develop comprehensive public health policies to improve the district quality of life. The synthesized knowledge can be used to further enhance the operational guidelines of the District Quality of Life Development Committee in Thailand.
