On 27 August 2024, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP; Acting President of Mahidol University (MU) together with Dr.Thongchai Keeratihuttayakorn; Director-General, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), and Prof. Emeritus Wannee Nitiyanant; President of Diabetes Association of Thailand signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuthamanee Suthisisang; Acting for Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Dr. Krisada Hanbunjerd; Director of Division of Non-Communicable Diseases, Department of Disease Control, and Assoc. Prof. Petch Rawdaree, M.D.; Secretary of Diabetes Association of Thailand also signed as the witnesses.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a collaboration between the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), the Department of Disease Control, and the Diabetes Association of Thailand. The MoU aims to enhance and develop research and innovation in the effective care, treatment, and prevention of diabetes. Additionally, it also enhance the capabilities of medical and public health professionals by equipping with the knowledge and skills necessary for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diabetes. This partnership will also focus on upgrading and expanding academic knowledge related to diabetes care, ensuring that practices are well-suited to the specific context of Thailand.
