ASEAN Institute for Health Development Discusses Strengthening Academic Collaboration in Primary Health Care and Community Health with the Health Service Support Division, Ministry of Public Health

On May 6, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, together with the Institute’s executive team and researchers, participated in an online meeting to explore academic collaboration in the areas of primary health care and community health. The meeting was held with Mr. Jaran Ratchakul, Director of the Division of Community Health Support, along with representatives from the Legal Division, Information Technology Group, and other personnel from the Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health.
The meeting was organized by the Health Service Support Division of the Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health.
The objective of the meeting was to discuss cooperation in several areas, including:
* Research and data exchange on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and the elderly care.
* Training programs for Village Health Volunteer (VHV) instructors.
* Field visits to model areas for expanding knowledge and innovations of nationally recognized outstanding VHVs.
* Establishing agreements for data sharing and exchange.
This meeting is part of the ongoing collaboration under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Department of Health Service Support and the ASEAN Institute for Health Development. The aim is to jointly promote research and policy development in public health, particularly on issues concerning elderly care in communities and the use of data through the VHV network to enhance sustainable policy action for the Ministry of Public Health
