ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD) Organizes Brainstorming Session for Cross-Border Well-being Strategic Plan

On July 31, 2025, AIHD, Mahidol University, organized a brainstorming session to develop a strategic plan for promoting cross-border well-being between Thailand and its neighboring countries. The session was led by Associate Professor Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, and Associate Professor Dr. Cheerawit Rattanapan, Deputy Director for Research and Academic Affairs. Key stakeholders participated in the virtual meeting, including representatives from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), Ministry of Public Health Department of Disease Control, Community Partners International (CPI), M-FUND, International Organization for Migration (IOM), and Su-ngai Kolok Hospital in Narathiwat Province.
The primary objective of this meeting was to gather ideas and discuss effective approaches for developing a health promotion strategic plan specifically for the border areas between Thailand and its neighbors: Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. A particular focus was placed on fostering multi-sectoral cooperation at both national and regional levels to enhance the quality of life and overall well-being of the populations in these border regions. The meeting was conducted online via Zoom, hosted by the ASEAN Institute for Health Development.
