AIHD Research team meets to develop research tools for “The Alternative synthesis of policies and proposals to support Village Health Volunteers and Public Health Volunteers’ roles reforms”

The ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University Director, Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D. called the institute’s research team for a meeting to develop research tools for the project - “The alternative synthesis of policies and proposals to support Village Health Volunteers and Public Health Volunteers’ roles reforms” held on 3 November 2020, at the Ratchaphruek room, AIHD.Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana is the head of the research project “The alternative synthesis of policies for the development of Village Health Volunteers and Public Health Volunteers’ roles reform towards the achievement of sustainable development goals” and also the sub-project 5. Also in attendance were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakda Arj-ong Vallibhakara, M.D., Deputy Director for Research Innovation and Academic Services; Asst. Prof. Dr. Vijj Kasemsup, M.D., Deputy Director for Policy Promotion and head of sub-project 4; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cheerawit Rattanapan, head of sub-project 1; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, head of sub-project 2; Asst. Prof. Dr. Orapin Laosee, head of sub-project 3; Asst. Prof. Dr. Aroonsri MongkolChati, Asst. Prof. Somsak Wongsawass, and the AIHD research promotion staff.During the meeting, the AIHD research team has discussed the various recommendations in developing research questions that should cover Village Health Volunteers and Public Health Volunteers’ roles, best practices, and possible factors that would help support and improve the health volunteers’ roles. The adjustments made to the research tools provide various aspects to determine the directions of policy developments of health volunteers' roles in the future. The results from the improvements of research tools will be presented in the "Knowledge exchange and recommendations in developing tools for research data collection forum". The forum is organized with the research team from the Department of Health, Bangkok and Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Health, and 5 Primary Health Care Development Centers. The said meeting will be held on Tuesday, 10 November 2020, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon, at the Ratchaphruek room, ASEAN Institute for Health Development. The meeting will also be carried live online via the Zoom Meeting system.
