Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D., Director, ASEAN Institute for Health Development #AIHD, Mahidol University, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakda Arj-ong Vallibhakara, M.D., Deputy Director for Research Innovation and Academic Services, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Vijj Kasemsup, M.D., Deputy Director for Policy Promotion, welcomed the Thai Menopause Society (TMS) and Thai Osteoporosis Foundation (TOPF) on 24 November 2020 at Krasae Chanawongse Conference room, AIHD.
Guests from both the TMS and TOPF include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitirat Techatraisak, President of Thai Menopause Society and lecturer at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University; Mr. Unnop Jaisamrarn, M.D., President of the Thai Osteoporosis Foundation (TOPF) and lecturer at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chulalongkorn Hospital; and Asst. Prof. Orawin Vallibhakara, M.D., Head of the Menopause Section and lecturer at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Mahidol University Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital.
For this field visit, TPMS and TOPF seek to learn more about health policy and research from the AIHD. A meeting was also held that centered on discussing collaborations in the field of innovative development of primary care system for the elderly and caring for elderly women in various areas such as bone displacement, caring for bone mass, education for the elderly, self-care promotion, and a regional level care for elderly women.
AIHD, TMS, and TOPF, during the meeting, has also brought out the widespread dissemination of already published clinical research results that can be utilized by doctors, general practitioners, obstetricians, public health staff, and the public in general to accomplish real and positive impact to the society.
