Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, M.D., Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, and Dr. Nalinee Nakittipha Chuakhamfoo, AIHD Lecturer, were honored to be invited by the National Health Security Office (NHSO) to join the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day at the Naradhip Auditorium, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 8 December 2020. This year’s UHC day has the theme – Health for All: Protect Everyone — To end this crisis and build a safer and healthier future, we must invest in health systems that protect us all — now. The National Health Security Office (NHSO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Health, has organized the UHC Day. NHSO has arranged a panel discussion to talk about the roles of UHC in strengthening human and health security. The United Nations (UN) has declared every 12th of December as the International Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC Day). UHC Day celebration aims to promote global awareness of the importance of Universal Health Coverage and to promote strong health systems with Universal Health Coverage as the cornerstone in achieving its goals. Present during the event were representatives of the diplomatic corps in Thailand, the public sector, and related health organizations. The event demonstrates UHC’s vision and essential policies in Thailand to promote universal health insurance to interested countries through diplomatic channels and develop goodwill with other nations.
