AIHD, a recognized PHCPI partner

13 December 2020

The Primary Health Care Performance Initiative (PHCPI) has recognized the ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, as one of its partners to promote strong primary health care via strong health systems.
The PHCPI was founded in 2015 in partnership between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UNICEF, World Bank Group, and the World Health Organization, with technical collaborations with Ariadne Labs and Results for Development. PHCPI brings together countries, organizations, and individuals advocating primary health care in keeping people safe and healthy even in times of crisis. PHCPI draws on its partners' strengths to work across the spectrum of a better primary health care measurement.
AIHD is the first academic institute in Thailand recognized by PHCPI. AIHD’s participation in the PHCPI network will bring the development of knowledge and tools to drive AIHD’s policies in developing the Primary Health System (PHC) of Thailand and countries in the ASEAN region. This partnership could also strengthen AIHD’s Master of Primary Health Care Management program and promote research in developing the capacity of primary care management in accordance with the principles of primary health.
